BAURU SANDWICH

Versão em Português
Versión en Español

A typical brazilian sandwich, that just like the brigadeiro is very popular among the people. It was created by a bauruense (people born in Bauru the city) Casimiro Pinto Neto, who at the time was in law school. One day, he asked an employee from Ponto Chic, a traditional eatery, to make him a new sandwich with french bread, melted cheese, tomate and roast beef. Soon his friend Antonio and other people was copying him and asking for the Bauru's sandwich, Casimiro's nickname.
Later on the sandwich went through a lot of variations: they added other kinds of cheese, pickled cucumber, salad and one version almost more popular than the original recipe where the roast beef was substituted for ham.

  1. I go through periods where I eat a lot of sandwiches and then I don't. I feel a sandwich craving coming on!
