Chocolate goes with everything or almost, we can't deny. Chocolate and orange is a combination very appreciated. So, what about to try this cake? The dough is just like everyone loves: light, soft, melting in your mouth. The filling is a chocolate and orange mousse and the topping very attractive! It's very simple to prepare, but is easier to garnish.
150g butter
150g sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
260g flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp baking powder
To sprinkle
80ml orange juice
Filling
70g semisweet chocolate
50g milk chocolate
3 tbsp orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest
2 eggs separated
Topping
2 oranges skinless and sliced
Whipped cream
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350˚F. Sift together the flour, cocoa and baking powder.
Cream butter and sugar. Gradually add the eggs, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract. Fold in the sifted ingredients. Bake for 40 minutes until a toothpick is inserted in the center and comes out clean. Let it cool in a rack.
Filling
Melt the chocolates and stir in juice and zest of orange. Add the egg yolks one at a time, beating well after addition. Whip the egg whites and fold gently in the mixture.
To Finish
Slice the cake. Sprinkle with orange juice, fill, cover with sliced orange and embellish with whipped cream. Leave in fridge (covered) until to serve.
Serve: 10 slices.
